Introduction
This project has developed from my recycled paper jewellery range. Where cufflinks have been used to encapsulate and display interesting paper items. Such as the use of tattered vintage maps and the reuse of unwanted comic book.
I have often mulled over the idea of getting artists and designers involved in an area of the jewellery design. This is an open opportunity to get your work noticed in a different way. If you are interested in getting involved please email me on: pete@spil.me.uk

Illustrations by James Cottell
I decided to experiment with two different types of paper; tracing paper and water colour paper. I asked James to come up with ideas based on animals and architecture.
The initial batch of Jame's pen drawings on tracing paper (bellow) are going to be cast in clear resin and backed with gold leaf. The use of tracing paper will give me the option to introduce colour from behind. At the moment I'm mulling over colour ideas and how to introduce the colour/ pattern to the design. Maybe another layer encapsulating coloured paper or some printed fabric.
I'm looking for illustrators, photographers and artists who can develop some fresh cufflink ideas. Use of colour is going to be important and so is the intended size of the design.
